In 2022, approx. 14M cubic meters of wood chips and particles were produced in Canada; therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, production showed a pronounced descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the production volume increased by 2.9%. Wood chips and particles production peaked at 17M cubic meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood chips and particles production shrank slightly to $451M in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production showed a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the production volume increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $591M. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.
