Spirits and Liqueurs Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average spirits and liqueurs export price amounted to $7.6 per litre, surging by 4.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 16% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $8.2 per litre in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9.7 per litre), while the average price for exports to Spain ($4.2 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Spirits and Liqueurs Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2023
The average spirits and liqueurs import price stood at $3.9 per litre in July 2023, increasing by 50% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a moderate expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, spirits and liqueurs import price increased by +50.4% against June 2023 indices. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4.2 per litre in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($14.7 per litre), while the price for the United States ($1.6 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Spirits and Liqueurs Exports in Ireland
In 2022, spirits and liqueurs exports from Ireland amounted to 213M litres, remaining stable against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, spirits and liqueurs exports rose sharply to $1.7B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 29%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
