Starch Manufacture Residues Price in Austria (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average starch manufacture residues export price amounted to $520 per ton, dropping by -7.1% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $578 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,493 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($371 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Starch Manufacture Residues Price in Austria (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average starch manufacture residues import price amounted to $844 per ton, waning by -38.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 191% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,379 per ton, and then shrank dramatically in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,201 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($269 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+21.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, approx. 173K tons of residues of starch manufacture were exported from Austria; declining by -8.7% compared with 2021 figures. In general, exports saw a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 190K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, starch manufacture residues exports rose markedly to $71M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 27% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
