The average sulphides; polysulphides import price stood at $495 per ton in 2022, surging by 30% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sulphides; polysulphides import price increased by +52.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($673 per ton), while the price for China ($476 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, overseas purchases of sulphides; polysulphideses decreased by -20.6% to 157 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports faced a precipitous contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 49%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.8K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sulphides; polysulphides imports rose slightly to $78K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a dramatic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $907K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
