The average waxes; artificial, prepared import price stood at $6,410 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -8.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,049 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($65,165 per ton), while the price for China ($3,756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+24.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
