View PricingWheat Commodity Price Per Bushel
The price of wheat commodity per bushel is determined by various factors including supply and demand, weather conditions, market speculation, and government policies. As a major agricultural commodity, wheat is one of the most widely traded and consumed crops globally, making its price an important indicator of global economic and agricultural conditions.
The price of wheat fluctuates constantly due to these factors. Supply and demand play a crucial role in determining the price. When there is a shortage of wheat due to factors such as droughts, floods, or pests, the price tends to increase as the supply decreases. Conversely, when there is an oversupply of wheat due to favorable growing conditions and high yields, the price tends to decrease.
Weather conditions also have a significant impact on wheat prices. Adverse weather events, such as droughts, storms, or extreme temperatures, can damage wheat crops and lead to lower yields, causing prices to rise. Conversely, favorable weather conditions can result in higher yields and lower prices.
Market speculation and investor sentiment also influence wheat commodity prices. Traders and investors in the futures market can speculate on the future price of wheat and create volatility in prices. Economic indicators, geopolitical events, and other market factors also affect wheat prices.
Government policies and regulations can also have a significant impact on wheat prices. Subsidies, tariffs, import/export restrictions, and biofuel mandates are examples of policies that can affect the balance of supply and demand and influence wheat prices.
The price of wheat is quoted in terms of bushels. A bushel is a unit of measurement for agricultural commodities and is equivalent to 35.2391 liters or around 60 pounds of wheat. The price per bushel can vary depending on the quality of the wheat, its intended use (food, animal feed, biofuels, etc.), and geographical location.
Wheat commodity prices can be influenced by global economic trends, currency fluctuations, and trade policies. For example, changes in the value of the US dollar can affect the price of wheat in international markets as it is one of the most widely traded currencies. Trade policies and trade agreements also impact wheat prices as they can affect the flow of wheat between countries.
It is important to note that wheat commodity prices can vary across different exchanges and markets. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT), and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) are among the major exchanges where wheat futures contracts are traded.
Overall, the price of wheat commodity per bushel is influenced by a complex set of factors and can exhibit significant volatility. Traders, farmers, and policymakers closely monitor wheat prices to make informed decisions about production, investment, and trade.

In 2022, wheat price growth is forecast to slow down with sufficient global production and falling demand for feed grains in the U.S. and the EU. Global wheat output is set to remain at the 2021’s level of approx. 777M tons.
The average annual wheat price in the U.S. is forecast to drop by 2% y-o-y to $250 per ton in 2022, falling on reduced domestic consumption coupled with stable supply worldwide. The market balance will be buoyed by production gains in Argentina and the EU that will offset decreasing output in Brazil and Paraguay.
This year, harvests in the EU, the U.S., the UK, Argentina, Morocco and Ukraine are expected to increase, leading to a growth in wheat production. Even though global stockpiles of grains will remain high, there are boosted expectations for inflation due to forecasts of record demand and increased prices for other cereal grains. The rising global population and bioethanol production are key factors leading to this growth in demand for wheat. Another driving factor is the emerging trend in the EU to use more wheat in animal feed rather than barley.
Global wheat production will reach 758.3 million tons in 2020, showing a slight decrease of 0.5 percent over the previous year's highs and still at a fairly high level.
Global wheat consumption amounted to X thousand tons in 2015, remaining constant against the previous year level.
In 2015, the countries with the highest levels of production were China (X thousand tons), India (X thousand tons), Russia (X thousand tons), together accounting for X% of total output.
The U.S. dominates in the global wheat trade. In 2014, the U.S. exported X thousand tons of wheat totaling X million USD, X% under the previous year. Its primary trading partner was Japan, where it supplied X% of its total wheat exports in
