Wire and Cable Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average wire and cable import price amounted to $11,224 per ton, reducing by -1.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 when the average import price increased by 5.4% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $12,305 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($31,098 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($3,911 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wire and Cable Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average wire and cable export price stood at $2,059 per ton in January 2022, with a decrease of -68% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 31% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $6,675 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($11,081 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($742 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wire and Cable Imports in Russia
In 2022, overseas purchases of insulated wire and cable were finally on the rise to reach 105K tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a pronounced setback.
In value terms, wire and cable imports reduced to $1.1B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.2B, and then reduced in the following year.

Wire and Cable Exports in Russia
In 2022, the amount of insulated wire and cable exported from Russia reduced to 81K tons, dropping by -6.2% on 2021 figures. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 9.8%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 86K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
