As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Somalia was the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded X% of total imports. Morocco (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Mozambique (X%), Namibia (X%) and Djibouti (X%). The following importers - Mauritius (X tons), South Sudan (X tons), Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) and Lesotho (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

Imports into Somalia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, South Sudan (X%), Morocco (X%), Mauritius (X%), Mozambique (X%) and Djibouti (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Sudan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Lesotho (X%), Namibia (X%) and Cote d'Ivoire (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Morocco (X p.p.), Mozambique (X p.p.), Djibouti (X p.p.), Mauritius (X p.p.) and South Sudan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Cote d'Ivoire, Somalia and Namibia saw its share reduced by X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.
