The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The shipments of the one major exporters of ferro-manganese, namely Kazakhstan, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ferro-manganese exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. Kazakhstan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) also remains the largest ferro-manganese supplier in Central Asia.

As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ferro-manganese imports declined sharply to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2022, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan was the largest importer of ferro-manganese in Central Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. Kazakhstan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Mongolia (X%). Tajikistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Uzbekistan increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Tajikistan (X%) and Mongolia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Kazakhstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Tajikistan increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ferro-manganese in Central Asia, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a X% share.
