From 2014 to 2017, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of saturated chlorinated acyclic hydrocarbon derivatives other than chloro- and dichloromethane, chloro- and dichloroethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, dichloropropane and dichlorobutanes totaled $X in 2017. Overall, exports saw a sharp decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2017, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

Export Prices by Country
In 2017, the export price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2017, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while Niger totaled $X per ton.

In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of saturated chlorinated acyclic hydrocarbon derivatives other than chloro- and dichloromethane, chloro- and dichloroethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, dichloropropane and dichlorobutanes, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of saturated chlorinated acyclic hydrocarbon derivatives other than chloro- and dichloromethane, chloro- and dichloroethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, dichloropropane and dichlorobutanes contracted sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
Nigeria was the main importer of saturated chlorinated acyclic hydrocarbon derivatives other than chloro- and dichloromethane, chloro- and dichloroethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, dichloropropane and dichlorobutanes in ECOWAS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Ghana (X%) and Togo (X%). Senegal (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Nigeria increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Ghana (X%), Senegal (X%) and Cote d'Ivoire (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ghana emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Togo experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Togo and Ghana increased by X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Ghana ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising X% of total imports.
Ghana, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
