The UK, Vietnam, Canada, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Turkey and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.

In 2022, overseas shipments of antimony and articles thereof decreased by -0.6% to 13K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 55%. The global exports peaked at 13K tons in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

In value terms, antimony and articles thereof exports expanded significantly to $149M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 85%. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Exports By Country

In 2022, Tajikistan (9.3K tons) was the key exporter of antimony and articles thereof, committing 70% of total exports. Vietnam (1.7K tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by the United States (8.5%). Bolivia (496 tons) and the UK (371 tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Tajikistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the antimony and articles thereof exports, with a CAGR of +17.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+16.8%), the UK (+16.4%), the United States (+12.9%) and Bolivia (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth.
