Butter Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average butter import price amounted to $6,189 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 27% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $7,701 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($10,588 per ton), while the price for Austria ($5,572 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Butter Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2023
The average butter export price stood at $7,760 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 16% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8,567 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Montenegro ($8,191 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($7,654 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($7,586 per ton) and North Macedonia ($7,633 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Butter Imports in Croatia
In 2022, butter imports into Croatia totaled 3.2K tons, increasing by 7.1% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
