Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $521 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($434 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($303 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of chlorides; of calcia, when their volume decreased by -19.7% to 1.3K tons. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8.5% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.7K tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
