Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average non-combined refrigerator-freezer export price amounted to $461 per unit, shrinking by -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-combined refrigerator-freezer export price increased by +80.5% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 43% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $473 per unit in 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,029 per unit), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($298 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average non-combined refrigerator-freezer import price stood at $339 per unit in July 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 an increase of 5.6% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $361 per unit in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($262 per unit), while the price for Malaysia ($63.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Exports in Germany
In 2022, the amount of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined) exported from Germany reached 1.4M units, flattening at the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 11%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports contracted slightly to $646M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 21%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $661M, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Imports in Germany
For the third year in a row, Germany recorded decline in purchases abroad of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined), which decreased by -22.9% to 1.8M units in 2022. In general, imports faced a deep downturn. The smallest decline of -1.2% was in 2021. Imports peaked at 2.7M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports reduced to $565M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 29%. Imports peaked at $642M in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
