In December 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,844 per ton, shrinking by -10.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 18% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,505 per ton. From November 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the countries with the highest prices were French Polynesia ($2,370 per ton) and Cook Islands ($2,186 per ton), while the average price for exports to Fiji ($1,611 per ton) and Samoa ($1,644 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cook Islands (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,747 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,468 per ton), while the price for Tonga ($252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
