The average spices; mixtures import price stood at $10,183 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -39.9% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a slight expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, spices; mixtures import price decreased by -39.9% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 66% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $16,933 per ton, and then plummeted in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($72,126 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($5,021 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 37% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $13,582 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($13,808 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($5,545 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
