Spices; Turmeric (Curcuma) Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
In 2021, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) export price amounted to $2,520 per ton, with a decrease of -11% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 37%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,869 per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,737 per ton), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price decreased by -17.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 134%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,004 per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($24,254 per ton), while the price for India ($1,644 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
