The average sulphites; thiosulphates import price stood at $400 per ton in April 2020, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a mild decrease. The import price peaked at $415 per ton in January 2020; however, from February 2020 to April 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2020, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($507 per ton), while the price for China ($302 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average sulphites; thiosulphates export price stood at $605 per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 67%. The export price peaked at $2,743 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($1,551 per ton), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Colombia (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the amount of sulphites; thiosulphateses imported into Peru fell to 14K tons, reducing by -14.8% on the previous year. Overall, imports showed a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 16K tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, sulphites; thiosulphates imports declined dramatically to $7.6M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 59%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $9.3M, and then fell markedly in the following year.

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of sulphites; thiosulphateses decreased by -29% to 305 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 850%.

In value terms, sulphites; thiosulphates exports fell remarkably to $185K in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 767%.
