Uzbekistan prevails in exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 93% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X kg), constituting a 5.5% share of total exports. Mongolia (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 134%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, quilted textile products imports contracted to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 368%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) represented roughly 78% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), generating an 18% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of +38.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -24.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 236% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
