In 2018, the imports of broken rice in CIS totaled X tons, going down by -X% against the previous year. In general, broken rice imports, however, continue to indicate a modest expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, broken rice imports reached their peak figure at X tons in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, broken rice imports totaled $X in 2018. In general, broken rice imports, however, continue to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. In that year, broken rice imports reached their peak of $X. From 2011 to 2018, the growth of broken rice imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which resulted at X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together making up a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Moldova (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) - each recorded a X% share of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern of broken rice imports. At the same time, Tajikistan (+X%), Azerbaijan (+X%) and Armenia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer in CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. By contrast, Belarus (-X%) and Moldova (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Tajikistan (+X p.p.), Russia (+X p.p.) and Azerbaijan (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2007-2018, the share of Moldova (-X p.p.) and Belarus (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported broken rice in CIS, comprising X% of total broken rice imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Tajikistan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a X% share.

In Russia, broken rice imports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Tajikistan (+X% per year) and Belarus (-X% per year).

In 2018, the broken rice import price in CIS amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the broken rice import price, however, continues to indicate a temperate decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% year-to-year.
