In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X square meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, tufted carpet exports fell slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X square meters) and Belgium (X square meters) represented the largest exporters of tufted carpets and other tufted textile floor coverings in Europe, together finishing at approx. 67% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Germany (X square meters), making up a 6.6% share of total exports. The following exporters - the UK (X square meters), France (X square meters), the Czech Republic (X square meters), Austria (X square meters), Poland (X square meters), Italy (X square meters), Denmark (X square meters) and Spain (X square meters) - together made up 22% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +9.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 6.5% against the previous year. Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per square meter), while Austria ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per square meter, which is down by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 7.3%. The level of import peaked at $X per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per square meter), while the Czech Republic ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
