Peru, with a CAGR of +52.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a deep reduction. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, uncooked pasta imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Colombia was the main importer of uncooked pasta (containing eggs) in MERCOSUR, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 45% of total imports in 2021.
